How to Make Chocolate Peanut Butter Rice Krispie Treats
What You Need to Make This Recipe
To make this recipe you will need Cocoa Krispies, marshmallows, peanut butter, butter, Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups, chocolate chips and peanut butter chips.
Prep!
The only prep work for this recipe is to chop up the Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups and lightly butter the inside of a baking dish.
Tip: use an 8 x 8-inch pan for thicker Rice Krispies Treats as shown in the photos, or a 9 x 11-inch pan for thinner treats.
Create!
Place the marshmallows and butter in a large microwave-safe bowl.
Microwave for 2 minutes, then stir. Microwave for an additional minute and stir until smooth.
Mix in the peanut butter until well-blended, then stir in the Cocoa Krispies until everything is covered in the marshmallow mixture.
Lightly press the Rice Krispies into the prepared baking dish.
Tip: lightly dampen your hands to keep the marshmallow from sticking to them.
Next, press the Reese’s Cups evenly over the top of the Rice Krispies Treats.
Melt the chips, individually, in a microwave safe bowl for about 30 seconds. If they are not fully melted, heat in 15 second increments until they become smooth and easy to drizzle.
Drizzle the melted chocolate and peanut butter chips over the tops of the Reese’s Cups.
Present!
Allow the Peanut Butter Chocolate Rice Krispies Treats to sit at room temperature until the melted chocolate has hardened back up.
Cut and serve.
