This Greek Pasta Salad transforms Greek salad into a crowd-pleasing pasta salad. This side dish features pasta combined with pops of cherry tomatoes, refreshing cucumber, creamy feta, and olives. It is finished off with an easy-to-make Greek salad dressing.

Fans of Greek Salad will fall in love with Greek pasta salad, as well. There are a lot of similar flavors and ingredients, but this recipe can feed a crowd. It also has the addition of tender pasta.

It’s a fresh, light, yet hearty, colorful salad that’s perfect for parties!

When you need a quick recipe that will feed a crowd, make this Greek pasta salad. It’s an easy, flavorful recipe that will become everyone’s favorite summertime recipe. 

It can be a side dish, or make it the main course – just add some shredded cooked chicken. Adding chicken does make it a bit more of a heartier meal. 

There are a lot of ways to make this pasta salad work for you. Leave out the meat and make it vegetarian. Use gluten-free pasta to make a safe for anyone with allergies. Use your favorite veggies or simply leave out the ones you don’t like.

Step-By-Step Instructions

Ingredients

Pasta Salad

  • 1 pound dried spiral pasta: you can use any short pasta shape that you prefer. You can use gluten free pasta, if needed.
  • 1 1/2 cup cherry tomatoes (halved): if using larger tomatoes be sure to dice them into bite size pieces.
  • 1 medium cucumber (quartered lengthwise and sliced)
  • 1/2 red onion (finely chopped)
  • 1/2 cup Greek feta cheese (crumbled)
  • 1/2 cup kalamata olives (pitted)

Greek Salad Dressing

  • 1/4 cup extra virgin olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons red wine vinegar
  • 1 tablespoons lemon juice: fresh squeezed is best.
  • 1 teaspoon teaspoon dried oregano
  • Salt and pepper (to taste)

Prep!

Set a large pot of salted water over high heat and bring to a boil.

Halve the tomatoes, slice the cucumber, dice the onion and crumble the feta cheese, if needed.

Create!

Cook the pasta according to packet instructions. Drain and set aside to cool.

To assemble the salad, add the cooked, cooled pasta, halved cherry tomatoes, sliced cucumber, chopped red onion, crumbled feta and the kalamata olives to a large salad bowl.

Make the Greek salad dressing by adding red wine vinegar, lemon juice and dried oregano to a small mixing bowl. Slowly drizzle in the olive oil while whisking until well combined and emulsified. Season to taste with salt and pepper.

Divide the salad between 6 bowls or plates, or let guests serve themselves from the main bowl.

Tips and Techniques

  • To help stop the pasta sticking together as it cools, stir a drizzle of olive oil through the drained pasta.
  • You can add sliced grilled chicken to the salad to make it a complete meal.
  • Store leftover salad in an airtight container in the refrigerator. Consume within 2 days.

You can make pasta salad up to 2 days ahead of time. Store the pre-made salad tightly covered in the refrigerator for up to 2 days.

Can You Freeze Pasta Salad?

Pasta salad is not suitable for freezing.
