Mojitos have always been one of my go-to cocktails to order when out and about. They have a light, fresh flavor and don’t taste strongly of alcohol making them more enjoyable to drink, for some.

This Blackberry Mojito uses all of the same ingredients as a traditional Cuban mojito, like rum, club soda, fresh mint and freshly squeezed limes, but the simple syrup is replaced with homemade Blackberry Syrup.

If you are interested in trying some other cocktails perfect for the season, you may enjoy these recipes for an Irish Sunset Cocktail, a Fresh Strawberry Mojito, a Blue Pineapple Cocktail or even a Manmosa.

Why This Recipe Works

It’s a simple adaptation of the very popular Mojito cocktail.

This recipe only requires 5 ingredients – rum, club soda, lime juice, blackberry sauce and fresh mint.

You can make this cocktail in just minutes. The recipe can also easily be increased when serving a crowd.

Step-By-Step Instructions

Ingredients

Ingredients needed to make a blackberry mojito on a marble background with text overlay.

  • 2-3 sprigs fresh mint
  • 4 ounces rum
  • 3 ounces blackberry syrup (you can use my recipe for Blackberry Syrup or any blackberry syrup should work. You can also muddle a few blackberries in your glass when you muddle the mint and use 3 ounces of simple syrup instead.)
  • 1 tablespoon fresh squeezed lime juice (about 1/2 of a lime)
  • 2-4 ounces of club soda (to taste)

The entire recipe and instructions can also be found in the recipe card at the bottom of this post. You can also print the recipe from the card, if needed.

FAQ’s

Do Mojitos Have A Strong Alcohol Taste?

Mojitos are made with rum but only have a light alcohol flavor that can be drowned out even more by a slight increase in the amount of club soda used.
