Because pumpkin pie spice, sometimes simply called pumpkin spice, has become so popular these days, pre-made spice mixes are all over the grocery store shelves. But, it’s not really necessary to buy yet another over-priced spice blend.

Making your own homemade Pumpkin Pie Spice is easy and you can make it just the way you like it.

Not only can you use this recipe for pumpkin pie, but you can use an equal amount in any pumpkin recipe that calls for a combination of spices like cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, and allspice. Try it in sweet recipes like Pumpkin Spice Coffee Cake and Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Cookies or savory fall recipes such as Pumpkin Risotto or Pumpkin Grits.

Combine the cinnamon, allspice, ginger, and nutmeg in a small jar with a lid. Mix well.

    Nothing is better than making your own pumpkin pie spice at home, for me is so much flavorful plus you can adjust is as you like. We usually add a little bit more cinnamon and ginger.
