How To Make Buffalo Chicken Burgers

Ingredients

Ingredients to make buffalo chicken burgers on a marble backdrop with labels

  • Ground Chicken: I use very lean chicken, but any kind will work.
  • Blanched Almond Flour: if you are not low carb or gluten free, you can use regular, all purpose flour or bread crumbs.
  • Buffalo Sauce: I always use Frank’s or Sweet Baby Ray’s, but you can use whatever brand you like.
  • Garlic and Shallot: you can use a small onion in place of the shallot, if preferred.
  • Salt and Pepper
  • Optional Toppings: lettuce, tomato, blue cheese, Ranch dressing and/or blue cheese dressing are delicious on these burgers.

The entire recipe and instructions can also be found in the recipe card at the bottom of this post. You can also print the recipe from the card, if needed.

Prep!

Finely dice the shallot and mince the garlic.

Combine the ground chicken, almond flour, Buffalo sauce, garlic, shallot, salt and pepper in a large bowl. Mix until just blended.

You can gradually add more almond flour if the mixture is too wet and not sticking together.

Form the mixture into 4 evenly sized, 1-inch thick patties.

4 buffalo chicken burger patties cooking in a black skillet

Heat a large, flat skillet over medium-high heat. Spray with non-stick cooking spray.

Once the skillet is hot, add the burgers. Cook 4-5 minutes, then flip and cook an additional 4-5 minutes, or until the burgers are cooked through and no longer pink in the center.

Chicken is done when a meat thermometer inserted into the center reaches an internal temperature of 165°F.

Chef’s Tip: you can also bake these burgers in the oven at 350°F until cooked through, flipping once during cooking, or on the grill.
