One of my favorite ways to cook turkey bacon is in the air fryer. The only downside to that cooking method is that you can’t cook much at one time in most air fryers.

If I’m making a full pack of turkey bacon to serve the entire family, my go-to method of cooking more turkey bacon at once is in the oven. It comes out just as perfect and crispy every time!

Because turkey bacon is low in fat, there isn’t much grease that comes off of it as it cooks. You don’t need any special equipment except for a sheet pan and maybe some parchment paper for easy clean up.

Why This Recipe Works

This is a quick and easy method of cooking turkey bacon. After you lay the bacon strips out on the sheet pan, it’s pretty hands off from there except to turn it once.

You can make more at one time. You may need a couple of sheet pans, but you can cook an entire pack of bacon at once and it only takes 10 to 15 minutes!

You don’t need any special equipment.

Step-By-Step Instructions

Ingredients

  • 1 package turkey bacon: you can use regular or low sodium, but you do not want to use packaged “fully cooked” turkey bacon.

The entire recipe and instructions can also be found in the recipe card at the bottom of this post. You can print the recipe from the card, if needed.

Prep!

Preheat your oven to 375°F.

Line a baking sheet or two, depending on how much you want to make, with parchment paper.

Lay the turkey bacon strips out on the prepared baking sheet so that they are in a single layer and not overlapping.

Place the sheet pan in the oven and bake for about 7 minutes.

Flip the bacon over and bake an additional 5 to 7 minutes. This will vary depending on the thickness of the bacon so keep a very close eye on it. It can go from crispy to burnt very quickly.

Transfer to a paper towel lined plate to drain any excess grease off.

Serve warm.

Tips and Techniques

  • You can use regular or low sodium turkey bacon, but you do not want to use packaged “fully cooked” turkey bacon.

FAQ’s

How Do You Make Turkey Bacon Crispy?

Correctly preparing turkey bacon will help to make it crispy. There is no need to add any extra butter or oil if cooking turkey bacon in a skillet. Preparing it in an oven or air fryer will also result in crispy turkey bacon.

Drain any excess oil off of the bacon by transferring it to a paper towel-line plate after cooking.

Is Turkey Bacon Already Cooked?

Most turkey bacon is cured and/or smoked, so technically it is cooked before being formed into strips. However, you will need to read the label or company website to determine for sure.

Is Turkey Bacon Healthy?

Turkey bacon can be a healthier alternative to traditional bacon because it is usually lower in fat and calories while still being a good source of protein. It may still be high in sodium, and contain preservatives or sugar so it’s important to read the packaging to see if, and how much, turkey bacon is suitable for your own dietary needs.
