October 2020 Keto Krate Review
The prices listed are accurate at the time of this post.
This Keto Krate review includes some basic information about each product including the approximate price, some nutrition facts, any sweeteners in the ingredients, and my own personal thoughts on the product after sampling it.
Smartcake in Raspberry Cream
Price: $27.99 for 8 packs on the Smartcakes website and $21.89 for 8 packs on Amazon.
Nutrition: Each serving has 0 grams of net carbs, 2.5 grams of fat, 4 grams of protein and 0 grams of sugar.
Sweeteners: erythritol, monk fruit
Review: I believe chai flavored Smartcakes came in the first Keto Krate that I ever bought. They were so good, that I ordered more immediately. This flavor is equally as good and that’s coming from a girl who doesn’t usually care much for fruit flavored cake.
HEKA GoodFoods Maple Pecan Keto Bar
Price: $38.99 for 12 bars on the HEKA website. They are the $38.99 on Amazon.com.
Nutrition: Each bar has 1 gram of net carbs, 10 grams protein, 18 grams fat, and 1 gram of sugar.
Sweeteners: erythritol, allulose
Review: I have not tried this yet but did receive a different flavor bar in a past Keto Krate. To be honest, it wasn’t my favorite. It was excessively oily to the point the oil had separated and re-hardened around the outside of the bar. This maple pecan bar wrapper is oily on the outside. I’m not sure if it’s leaking or if the oil is coming from another item. Nothing appears to be damaged.
Jimmy Protein Bar in Blueberry Nut
Price: $34.99 for 12 bars on the JimmyBar website (free shipping on orders over $40) and $29.99 for 12 bars on Amazon.com (there is a 5% off coupon at the time of this post).
Nutrition: Each serving has 5 grams of net carbs, 8 grams of protein, 15 grams of fat and 3 grams of sugar.
Sweeteners: none
Review: I have not tried these yet, but did try a different flavor in my April 2020 Keto Krate and really liked it. We also received a Strawberry Nut bar in the September 2020 Keto Krate, however, I still haven’t tried that one yet either. The fruit flavored bars are usually not my favorite.
Flock Chicken Chips
Price: $24.00 for 8 bags on the Flock website. They are not currently available on Amazon.
Nutrition: Each serving has 0 grams of net carbs, 13 grams of protein, 14 grams of fat and 0 grams of sugar.
Sweeteners: none
Review: I haven’t tried these chips yet, but will update this section once I do. These chips are made from chicken skin, so I’m not super excited to try them.
Bunker Hill Cheese Crunchy Cheese Crisps in Brick Oven Pizza
Price: $14.99 for 4 packs on the Bunker Hill Cheese website. They are $15.98 on Amazon.com.
Nutrition: There are 0 grams of net carbs, 15 grams of fat, 10 grams of protein and 0 grams of sugar in each serving.
Sweeteners: none
Review: I could only eat 1 or 2 of these. The flavor was really strong and kind of salty. I didn’t even finish the bag.
SuperSeedz Somewhat Spicy Gourmet Pumpkin Seeds
Price: $1.49 per 1-ounce package or $15.60 for 12 1-ounce packages on the Superseedz website. They are $23.79 for six 5-ounce packages on Amazon.
Nutrition: Each serving has 2 grams of net carbs, 13 grams of fat, 8 grams of protein and 0 gram of sugar.
Sweeteners: none
Review: These were good and the spicy flavor is actually really light.
FBomb Nut Butter in Macadamia with Sea Salt
Price: $24.99 for 10 packs on the Fbomb website and $24.98 for 10 packs on Amazon.
Nutrition: Each serving has 1 grams of net carbs, 22 grams of fat, 2 grams of protein and 1 gram of sugar.
Sweeteners: none
Review: I have not tried this nut butter yet, but will update this section once I do.
Wild Bill’s Pork Belly Bites
Price: $8.99 per pack on the Wild Bill’s website. They are the $19.99 for 10 packs on Amazon.com.
Nutrition: Each serving has 1 gram of net carbs, 11 grams of fat, 10 grams of protein and 1 gram of sugar.
Sweeteners: sugar, brown sugar
Review: I haven’t tried this yet, but will update this section once I do. I don’t eat dried meats like this very often.
Think Jerky Grass-fed Original Beef Stick
Price: $22.50 for 10 sticks on the Think Jerky website. They are $19.99 for 10 sticks on Amazon.
Nutrition: Each beef stick has 1 gram of net carbs, 5 grams of fat, and 8 grams of protein, and 0 grams of sugar.
Sweeteners: none
Review: I liked this. I tend to like beef sticks and strips much more so than jerky.
NuNaturals NuStevia Pourable Salted Caramel Flavored Syrup
Price: $7.99 per pack on the NuNaturals website and $15.99 for 3 packs on Amazon.com.
Nutrition: Each serving has 0 grams of net carbs, 0 grams of fat, 0 grams of protein, and 0 grams of sugar.
Sweeteners: stevia
Review: I decided not to use this because I still have a fairly large bottle of sugar free maple syrup. This was included in a giveaway.
Is Keto Krate Worth It?
I absolutely believe that Keto Krate is worth it. Here is the breakdown as to why I believe this.
First, in order to be able to try all of these products, you often (almost always) have to buy an entire box or multiple packs online since a lot of these foods are not yet available in stores or are only available in some health food stores. You can see the online prices in the pricing section of each item listed above.
Second, the total value of the items, should you be able to buy them all individually, has been about the same or more than the cost of the box and that’s not factoring in any shipping costs. But again, it’s highly unlikely you’d be able to buy just one of any of all of these items. This month, my estimate comes in about $1 under the $39.99 cost of the box (shipping is also free).
Third, it’s a really great way to find some new keto friendly items to help you in your journey. This month the box isn’t super exciting for me. I will definitely eat all of the items though, with maybe the exception of the Heka bar. I’m most excited for the Smarkcakes and the spicy pumpkin seeds.
