September 2020 Keto Krate Review
The prices listed are accurate at the time of this post.
This Keto Krate review includes some basic information about each product including the approximate price, some nutrition facts, any sweeteners in the ingredients, and my own personal thoughts on the product after sampling it.
Good To Go Bar in Cinnamon Pecan
Price: $23.94 for 9 bars on the Good To Go website. They are the $22.94 on Amazon.com.
Nutrition: Each bar has 4 grams of net carbs, 5 grams protein, 14 grams fat, and 2 gram of sugar.
Sweeteners: erythritol
Review: I really liked this. It’s actually a soft bar more like a soft-baked cookie. The flavor is really good and not overly sweet.
Jimmy Protein Bar in Strawberry Nut
Price: $34.99 for 12 bars on the JimmyBar website (free shipping on orders over $40) and $29.99 for 12 bars on Amazon.com (there is a 25% off coupon at the time of this post).
Nutrition: Each serving has 5 grams of net carbs, 8 grams of protein, 15 grams of fat and 3 grams of sugar.
Sweeteners: none
Review: This wasn’t my favorite. It’s not bad, but I just don’t care for the strawberry flavor.
IQ Bar in Almond Butter Chip
Price: $24.99 for a box of 12 with free shipping on the IQ Bar website. The price is the same on Amazon, although they do not currently have this flavor.
Nutrition: Each serving has 3 grams of net carbs, 12 grams of protein, 12 grams of fat and less that 1 gram of sugar.
Sweeteners: allulose, stevia plant extract
Review: I got a different flavor of this bar in my March 2020 Keto Krate and loved it. I have since bought them off of Amazon. They are really good! You don’t feel like you’re eating a keto or protein bar at all.
Dang Coconut Chips
Price: $42.96 for 24 snack packs on the Dang website. I could not find the snack pack size on Amazon, but they do have the full size bags.
Nutrition: There are 3 grams of net carbs, 12 grams of fat, 1 gram of protein and 1 gram of sugar in each serving.
Sweeteners: none
Review: I have had Dang Coconut Chips before and absolutely love them. They are crunchy and really flavorful. These snack size packs are perfect to throw in a lunch box too!
Iota Roasted Sunflower Seeds in Umami Flavor
Price: $20.72 for 8 pouches on the Iota website.
Nutrition: Each serving has 3 grams of net carbs, 15 grams of fat, 6 grams of protein and 1 gram of sugar.
Sweeteners: none
Review: I was really excited to try this because I thought they would have a really obvious flavor, but it’s incredibly mild. I had to really pay attention and could barely taste apple cider vinegar. For the most part they just taste like salted sunflower seeds to me. I love sunflower seeds, so no big deal, but I would have loved a more obvious flavor.
Better Than Good Veggie Infused Protein Puffs in Baked Cheddar
Price: $15.97 for 6 packs on the Better Than Good website and $14.99 for 6 packs on Amazon.
Nutrition: Each serving has 3 grams of net carbs, 4 grams of fat, 15 grams of protein and 2 grams of sugar.
Sweeteners: cane sugar
Review: These were really salty. Dry cheese can be salty, but it was a bit too much for me. I also don’t love the tiny ball shapes. It’s like cereal size.
Intakt Snacks Crunchy Cheese in Black Pepper Flavor
Price: $28.00 for 12 packs on the Intakt website and $12.99 for 4 packs on Amazon.
Nutrition: Each serving has <1 gram of net carbs, 6 grams of fat, 5 grams of protein and 0 grams of sugar.
Sweeteners: none
Review: I tried this brand’s cheese puffs in my February 2020 Keto Krate and enjoyed it. It wasn’t the black pepper flavor though. I’m usually not a huge fan of a strong black pepper flavor, but I’ll still give these a try because I love cheese! Again, these are small and not easy to dip.
Stryve Beef Biltong in Original
Price: $6.99 per pouch on the Stryve website. They are the $23.99 for 12 pouches on Amazon.com.
Nutrition: Each serving has 0 grams of net carbs, 2 grams of fat, 16grams of protein and 0.5 grams of sugar.
Sweeteners: none
Review: I am not the biggest fan of jerky, so I gave this to my fiancé. He really liked it.
Tomer Kosher Beef Stick (0.9 ounces, 1 serving)
Price: $24.99 for 24 sticks on the Tomer Kosher website plus $5.00 shipping. They are not currently on Amazon at the time of this post.
Nutrition: Each beef stick has 1 gram of net carbs, 6 grams of fat, and 7 grams of protein.
Sweeteners: Corn syrup solids are listed in the ingredients, however sugar is not. I am assuming it’s a very small amount.
Review: I had this exact item in my February 2020 Keto Krate. These are pretty good meat sticks, but I don’t love the corn syrup solids in the ingredient. The sugar per stick is 0 grams which still makes it a better choice than a lot of other meat sticks.
Bright Fox Hydration Beverage in Blueberry Vanilla
Price: $79.99 for 24 bottles on both the Bright Fox website and on Amazon.com. There is currently a 25% off coupon on Amazon.
Nutrition: Each serving has 1 gram of net carbs, 0grams of fat, 0 grams of protein, and 0 grams of sugar. It is also calorie free.
Sweeteners: none
Review: This was pretty good! It was refreshing and not overly sweet. I don’t think I’d ever be able to bring myself to pay so much for it though.
Pyure Sugar Free Chocolate Drink Mix
Price: This product is sold in stores or starts at $7.99 for a full size package on Amazon.
Nutrition: Each serving has 2 grams of net carbs, 0 grams of fat, 1 grams of protein and 0 grams of sugar.
Sweeteners: erythritol and stevia
Review: I have not tried this yet.
Flackers Flax Seed Crackers in Sea Salt
Price: $7.99 a bag on the Flackers website. They are $6.16 per bag on Amazon.
Nutrition: Each serving has 1 gram of net carbs, 12 grams of fat, 6 grams of protein and 0 grams of sugar.
Sweeteners: none
Review: I have actually made flax seed crackers before. It’s an excellent choice for low carb and keto dieters to use flax seeds or ground flax seeds in recipes, where possible. These crackers are not super flavorful, but they pair perfectly with dips and don’t fall apart very easily. They have a very umami type flavor so they might be for everyone, but do come in other flavors.
Sun Tum Sunflower Seed Dip and Spread in Garlic
Price: $14.97 for a pack of 4 on Amazon.
Nutrition: There is 1 net carb, 10grams of fat, 2 grams of protein, and 0s gram of sugar.
Sweeteners: none
Review: I was so excited to try this dip. I love sun butter, but have never had it in any kind of flavored variety before. It reminds me more of garlic hummus than sun butter, but the sunflower seed flavor still does come through.
I absolutely love it! I sometimes buy hummus, but this has much less carbs and with the Flackers I can enjoy more without feeling guilty. I seriously could not stop eating this and will definitely be buying more.
Is Keto Krate Worth It?
I absolutely believe that Keto Krate is worth it. Here is the breakdown as to why I believe this.
First, in order to be able to try all of these products, you often (almost always) have to buy an entire box or multiple packs online since a lot of these foods are not yet available in stores or are only available in some health food stores. You can see the online prices in the pricing section of each item listed above.
Second, the total value of the items, should you be able to buy them all individually, has been about the same or more than the cost of the box and that’s not factoring in any shipping costs. But again, it’s highly unlikely you’d be able to buy just one of any of all of these items. This month, my estimate comes in about $2 over the $39.99 cost of the box (shipping is also free).
Third, it’s a really great way to find some new keto friendly items to help you in your journey. This month I’m pretty excited about most of the items in my box, will try everything and already know I love the Flackers and Sun Yum which are completely new to me.
