Ravioli Casserole is a family favorite and crowd pleaser since most people are familiar with traditional Italian flavors and enjoy eating pasta. Like Three Cheese Spinach Stuffed Shells, Goat Cheese Pasta, Roasted Red Pepper Pasta, or Tuscan Steak and Pasta, this easy recipe for Ravioli Casserole is sure to satisfy any craving for Italian cuisine.
Every time my family gets takeout from our favorite, local Italian restaurant, I cannot help but order one of my favorite dishes, baked ravioli. It is such a simple, humble dish, but also incredibly satisfying to eat thanks to its delicious, cheesy layers.
I decided to make a similar dish, this Ravioli Casserole, in a skillet to resemble the round aluminum takeout container they usually serve it in. You may also choose to bake this dish in a regular casserole dish instead.
This dish is a great family dinner and one of the best casseroles to make when you are short on time or ingredients.
Why This Recipe Works
Ravioli Casserole requires virtually no prep. A minimal prep time means this recipe is super quick and easy to make.
Just 4 ingredients are needed to make this fantastic pasta casserole; your choice of frozen or fresh ravioli, favorite pasta sauce, mozzarella, and parmesan cheese are all that is necessary.
This dish is seriously versatile! It may be made vegetarian, or you could choose to add extra meat and vegetables to it, as well. You may also substitute gluten free ravioli, instead of using traditional, flour-based raviolis.
How To Make Ravioli Casserole
Ingredients
- Ravioli: frozen or fresh can be used, but you will need to reduce the bake time when using fresh pasta. You can use gluten free ravioli.
- Pasta Sauce: your favorite jarred sauce or homemade sauce can be used.
- Mozzarella Cheese: I prefer to use fresh mozzarella, but you can use pre-shredded cheese, if you like.
- Parmesan Cheese
- Parsley: optional garnish
