Avocado toast with Everything Bagel Seasoning is one of my favorite ways to start the day. This savory spice blend with hints of salt in every bite is just so good.
I used to buy pre-made seasoning, but after realizing I was out one day, I decided to make it myself.
Most mixtures contain the same 6 ingredients – black and white sesame seeds, dried garlic and onion, poppy seeds, and salt. Most of these may already be in your pantry now. I did have to order black sesame seeds, but all white seeds can be used if you don’t have these on hand.
Why This Recipe Works
Making homemade spice mixes is very simple to do. It’s so quick and easy to mix together. Plus, it’s always a good idea to have your favorite spice mixture recipes on hand to make as needed rather than paying for an extra jar of seasoning.
Everything bagel is a very flavorful seasoning. Obviously, it goes great on bagels, but can be used in so many different ways. We love it on avocado toast and eggs, but you can use it on literally everything. From meats and seafood to veggies and other baked goods, this is a delicious seasoning to experiment with.
It’s a versatile recipe. While the ingredients used in this recipe are pretty standard for most everything bagel seasoning mixtures, you can adjust it as desired. Use more or less of any of the ingredients, or add your own twist by swapping in a different herb or spice.
