Instructions

  • Wash the apples well, then pound the bamboo sticks into the top end of each apple using a mallet or meat tenderizer.
    3 apples
  • Lay out a piece of parchment paper.
  • Pour all of the green candy melts into one 4-cup measuring cup and microwave for 45 second intervals. Stir vigorously after each interval to ensure they are fully melted and as smooth as possible.
2 12 ounce bags green candy melts
  • Tilt the measuring cup to the side and roll each apple in the chocolate. Tap the end of the bamboo stick to knock off any excess. Set the apple down gently on the parchment paper.
  • Sprinkle the top of each apple with Oreo crumbs before the candy hardens. This will be Frankenstein's “hair."
    1 cup Oreo cookie crumbs
  • Let the candy set.
  • Add a dot of melted green chocolate to the backside of each candy eye and add two to the front of each apple.
    6 candy eyes
  • Place the dark chocolate in a second measuring cup and microwave at 45 second intervals until completely melted and smooth, stirring after each interval.
1 12 ounce bag dark chocolate candy melts
  • Pour the melted chocolate into a piping bag.
  • Cut a very small piece off the end of the piping bag.
  • Gently pipe a smile, eyebrows, nose, and stitches onto the front of each apple. Let the chocolate set.
  • Once the chocolate is set, these apples are ready to serve. Enjoy!
