Red, White and Blue Ice Cream

Make this patriotic, Red, White and Blue Ice Cream to celebrate all of your summer holiday celebrations! This recipe is an easy-to-make, homemade no-churn vanilla ice cream that’s dyed with food color to fit perfectly into celebrations like the Fourth Of July.

  • In a large mixing bowl, use an electric or stand mixer fitted with a paddle, to beat the chilled heavy cream until stiff peaks form.
    2 cups heavy cream
  • Mix in the condensed milk and vanilla extract until just combined.
    1 14 ounce can sweetened condensed milk, 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Divide the mixture between three medium bowls.
  • Add red food coloring to one bowl and blue food coloring to another and stir to combine. Leave the third bowl white.

  • Remove the chilled loaf pan from the freezer and spoon the 3 ice cream mixtures into the loaf pan, alternating the colors.
  • Return the loaf pan back into the freeze for 6 to 8 hours or until the ice cream is set.
  • To serve, scoop into bowls or ice cream cones. Garnish with some patriotic sprinkles, if desired.

Notes

This recipe makes approximately 1 1/2 quarts of ice cream. A serving is 1/2 cup.
