Peanut Butter Waffle Batter

Chocolate Waffle Batter

  • PREP: Have out two medium sized bowls, your waffle maker, and all the ingredients needed. Melt the butter and set aside to cool.
  • In one bowl mix the flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt for the peanut butter waffle batter. Add the milk, eggs, melted butter, and peanut butter. Whisk until thoroughly combined and set aside to rest.
  • In the other bowl mix the flour, cocoa powder, sugar, baking soda, baking powder, and salt for the chocolate waffle batter. Add the milk and eggs and whisk until thoroughly combined. Set aside to rest.
  • Preheat your waffle maker as the batter rests (I set mine to level 4). Once it's heated, add some of the peanut butter waffle batter. I use a large spoon and add it in a swirl shape. Then, add some of the chocolate batter in the areas not covered with the peanut butter batter. Use a spatula or spoon to swirl the two batters together, then close the lid and cook until done.
  • PRESENT: serve waffles with powdered sugar and jam or strawberries, or even add chocolate sauce! For dessert, try cutting a waffle into 4's. Add a scoop of ice cream between 2 pieces to make 2 ice cream sandwiches. Top with hot fudge, whipped cream, mini chocolate chips, and strawberry slices.
