A Chocolate Raspberry Smoothie is a sweet, delicious way to start the day. It’s made with healthy, flavorful ingredients and can be enjoyed while following a low carb or keto diet. It’s also gluten free and can easily be made dairy-free or vegan, if needed.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup raspberries
  • 1 avocado * peeled and pitted
  • 1 1/2 cups unsweetened almond milk
  • 1 scoop chocolate protein powder * use dairy free or vegan, if needed
  • extra raspberries and sugar free chocolate shavings or chips * optional garnish
  • lemon juice * optional (I don't use it but others have mentioned they like to add a little squeeze to the berries)

Instructions

  • Add the raspberries, avocado, almond milk, and protein powder to a blender canister or smoothie cup attachment for your blender.
  • Blend on high until everything is well-combined and smooth.
  • Taste and adjust ingredients, as preferred.
  • Top with a couple of extra raspberries and some sugar-free chocolate shavings or chips, insert a straw, and enjoy.

Notes

Tips and Techniques

  • For a more chocolaty smoothie, use unsweetened chocolate almond milk.
  • You can use any protein powder that you like. If you use a dairy free or vegan protein powder, the recipe will be completely dairy free or vegan.
  • Smoothies are enjoyed best when freshly made, but can be kept in the refrigerator or freezer and re-blended before serving at a later time.
