Preheat oven to 425°F. Line a baking sheet with a Silpat mat or parchment paper.
Cut the pie crust into 8 even triangles.
In a small bowl, mix together the brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and allspice. Set aside 2 tablespoons.
Sprinkled the remaining sugar mixture evenly onto each of the pie crust triangles.
Sprinkle the chopped pecans over the brown sugar mixture, if using.
Peel and slice the apple into eight even slices and mix with 1 tablespoon of melted butter.
Place an apple on the smallest end of each pie crust triangle, and roll it all the way up to the opposite end.
Brush the top of each roll with the remaining butter and sprinkle with the reserved brown sugar mixture.
Bake in the pre-heated oven for 10 minutes, or until golden brown. Let cool 5 minutes before serving.
- Line your baking sheet with a Silpat mat or parchment paper to make clean up easier. Some juices may leak out of the pies while they bake.
- Make sure that your pie crust is at room temperature before you begin. If the crust is tearing or not sealing closed, you can wet it a little bit with water.
- You can also use crescent rolls instead of pie crust. You will need to preheat the oven to 375°F if you opt to use crescent rolls. The baking time will be about the same.
