- 6 cups cabbage * roughly chopped from one large head
- 1 pound bacon * diced
- 1/2 teaspoon salt * or to taste
- 1/4 teaspoon pepper * or to taste
Heat a large skillet over medium heat and add the diced bacon.
Cook the bacon, stirring frequently, until crisp. Remove with a slotted spoon to a paper towel lined plate.
Drain all but 1 tablespoon of bacon grease from the skillet and return the pan to the heat.
Add the cabbage, salt, and pepper.
Cook, stirring frequently, until the cabbage is tender and starting to brown on the edges - about 10-15 minutes.
Stir the bacon back in and serve hot.
