Ingredients

  • 6 cups cabbage * roughly chopped from one large head
  • 1 pound bacon * diced
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt * or to taste
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper * or to taste

Instructions

  • Heat a large skillet over medium heat and add the diced bacon.
  • Cook the bacon, stirring frequently, until crisp. Remove with a slotted spoon to a paper towel lined plate.
  • Drain all but 1 tablespoon of bacon grease from the skillet and return the pan to the heat.
  • Add the cabbage, salt, and pepper.
  • Cook, stirring frequently, until the cabbage is tender and starting to brown on the edges - about 10-15 minutes.
  • Stir the bacon back in and serve hot.
