Combine the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt in a medium size bowl. Stir to combine.
2 cups all purpose flour, 2 tablespoons granulated sugar, 4 teaspoons baking powder, 1/4 teaspoon salt
Make a well in the middle of the flour mixture and add the egg, melted butter, milk, and vanilla extract. Whisk until everything is just combined (do not over-mix - it's okay if there are still some small lumps in the batter).
