Old Fashioned Peach Cobbler

Old Fashioned Peach Cobbler is a classic summer dessert sure to bring up a bit of nostalgia. A spiced peach filling is topped with a crisp crust. Serve this delicious cobbler with a scoop of ice cream for a special treat.

  • Preheat oven to 350°F.
  • Place the butter in the bottom of an 9 x 11-inch baking pan and put it in the oven for 2-3 minutes until the butter has melted.
  • Meanwhile, combine the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt in a medium bowl. Whisk in the milk.
  • Pour the batter over the melted butter, but do not stir it.
  • In a medium saucepan, combine the peaches, brown sugar, and cinnamon over medium-high heat.
  • Cook, stirring occasionally, for about 5 minutes until the mixture is hot and bubbly.  Spoon on top of the batter, but again, do not stir.
  • Bake for approximately 45 minutes, until the crust is golden brown and crisp around the edges.

  • Use fresh peaches for the best results. You can substitute and equal amount of thawed, frozen peaches or drained, canned peaches, if preferred.
