Winc, formerly Club W, is a wine subscription service! I enjoy wine but am far from a wine expert. A subscription that makes recommendations based on my profile is an absolutely amazing concept! I recently tried the service so that I am able to share this Winc Wine Subscription Box review with all of you!
I received these items complimentary in exchange for my unbiased review. See our Disclosure Statement for more information.
How It Works
I answered 6 questions, then got to choose if I wanted all red, all white, or a combination of both. I chose the combination option. Next, I got to choose how many of each I would prefer. I ended up selecting to receive 3 reds and 1 white since we drink far more red wine.
There are then two pricing options to select from. The Wine Featured option includes recommendations from their $13 bottles, and the Wine Select includes recommendations in the $14-35 price range. I choose the Wine Featured option.
There are also several ways to earn credits on future purchases, such as reviewing the wine you receive, and referring others to try Winc! You may be offered other incentives from time to time, such as a complimentary shipping.
Shipping and Packaging
Some states do not allow you to receive wine through the mail. Be sure to check the website to see if delivery is available to your home. Someone must also be present to sign for your delivery, or you can have it held at a FedEx location and pick it up at your convenience.
The wine is packaged in an easy to carry box with a handle. Each bottle is fully protected with plenty of packaging material.

These are the four bottles of wine that Winc recommended to me:
- Capuchon (2015 White Wine Blend/California) – this wine features notes of peach, apricot, and pineapple! I think I will really enjoy this one!
- The Independent (2015 Red Zinfandel/California) – there is no description on the bottle for this one other than it was a collaboration project with winemaker Chris Condos.
- Nouvelle Ére (2014 Red Wine Blend/France) – described as a blend of the classic structure of Bordeaux wines and modern fruit-forward flavors.
- Alchymist Noir (2015 Red Wine Blend/California) – this wine is described as being inspired by the rose. It is a sweet wine with flavors of candy coated fruit and berries. This sounds like it would be a great wine to serve with dessert, as it pairs well with dark chocolate!
With the holidays coming quickly, I want to also let you know that Winc offers lots gift options starting at just $50! These would also make great birthday or housewarming gifts!
