This Wilmington Westin Hotel Review is based off of my personal experience staying there in December 2017.
Westin Hotels are part of the Starwood Hotels and Resorts group. Other hotels under this group include Marriott, Sheraton, Ritz Carlton, and many more! If you join the free Starwood Preferred Guest Program (SPG) you will enjoy many other benefits when you stay at one of their hotels.
The Wilmington Westin is located on the Riverfront in Wilmington, Delaware. It is within walking distance of many attractions, restaurants, and shops, and just a short drive to all the city has to offer!
This room was booked for me through a third party. Upon arrival at the hotel there was an issue, but both parties worked to resolve it as quickly as possibly. Everyone was extremely helpful and friendly.
Wilmington Westin Hotel Review
Upon arriving at the Wilmington Westin Hotel, the lobby was just beautiful. It was very clean and was decorated for the holidays.
There is a unique wall of plants, plenty of comfortable sitting areas, and a business center. The hotel also adjoins to the neighboring Chase Center for easy access should you need it.
Our room was a standard room with two queen size beds. We also requested a crib for our youngest.
The room itself was very spacious! We had plenty of room for our luggage, a stroller, and the extra crib. Everything was clean and very well maintained.
The beds are so comfortable! They have a very soft pillow-topped mattress, but were still firm underneath. The pillows are also incredibly soft. If you prefer firmer pillows, these would not be ideal. On each bed was a small bottle of a lavender balm that you could use to help promote a more restful sleep.
There is also a large dresser, television, and a large desk. There is most definitely plenty of room should you need to work in your hotel room. The in-room wifi is not free, unless you are a Starwood Preferred Guest (joining is free). We joined right before arriving.
Off to the side of the beds, near the window, was another chair, small table, ice bucket, and glasses.
There is a large closet with hangers, an iron, and ironing board. A separate closet contains a safe, coffee maker, drinks, snacks, and extra drawers.
The bathroom was also well kept. The shower features a contemporary rain shower head as well as a hand shower head. The towels are also very soft.
Our view was of part of the roof, but we could also see a huge view of the city of Wilmington and part of the Wilmington Blue Rocks Stadium.
Other Hotel Information
There is a restaurant in this hotel called River Rock Kitchen. The hotel also offers 24-hour room service. We did not take advantage of either of these offerings. There is not a free continental breakfast.
There is also a fitness center with the ability to borrow workout gear, an indoor pool, a boardroom, and a meeting room. Again, we did not use any of these amenities.
Would we stay here again? Absolutely. Room rates are not listed in this Wilmington Westin Hotel Review because they vary, but we found that the quality of this hotel, for the very reasonable price, was excellent!
