Chocolate Scones

Homemade Chocolate Scones are rich, sweet and absolutely decadent – they taste almost like chocolate cake for breakfast.  This is an easy recipe to make and gives you the most perfect scones that are incredibly flaky, tender and moist.

Chocolate Scones Ingredients

Make The Dough

Make the dough but combining the dry ingredients, then cutting in butter, then gradually adding a milk and cream mixture. It's a very thick dough.


Portion The Dough

Divide the dough in half and shape into two circles, about 1/2-3/4-inch high. Cut each disk into 6 triangles.


Portion The Scones

Place the scones an inch or two apart on a baking sheet. Brush with extra cream, if desired, for added sheen once baked.


Bake The Scones

Bake for 12-15 minutes or until just lightly browned on the bottoms. Allow to cool.


Add The Glaze

Prepare the chocolate glaze. Drizzle with a spoon over the scones. Allow to set.
