Marinate the chicken in a yogurt and spice marinade for about 1 hour.
Cook the chicken in butter until browned on all sides. Remove to a plate and tent with foil.
Cook the onions in butter until softened. Stir in the spices.
Stir in tomato puree and paprika. Cook about 10 minutes.
Stir the chicken and accumulated juices in, then mix in the heavy cream. Serve over rice, or as desired.
