Who says only grown-ups can have fancy, delicious smoothie bowls?!? Your little one will love this Toddler Tropical Fruit Smoothie Bowl that’s just for them!
Once your baby became a crawler and started eating more solid foods, you may have seen or bought Gerber’s Lil’ Bits 3rd Foods. They are prepackaged purees with small pieces of fruits and/or vegetables in them designed to help with learning to chew and mash foods. They can be served as is, but why not have a little fun sometimes and offer your child something new? By combining the Lil’ Bits with a few other smooth ingredients you can easily make all kinds of new recipes for your little one to enjoy!
Our son, Benjamin, is 15 months old. He had some delays with eating, but we’ve got him back on track now! He’s come such a long way, but we still use purees and soft solids most of the time. The meals I make using the Lil’ Bits has made it so Ben can join in now with his own special meals while we all have breakfast or dinner together.
Since Benjamin loves any kind of tropical fruit I’ve ever given him, I decided to make him a Toddler Tropical Fruit Smoothie Bowl to provide him with a little extra protein in his breakfast. The base of this smoothie bowl is just a simple blend of Greek yogurt and frozen banana! Once that’s blended and smooth, pour it into a bowl and top with the Gerber Island Fruit Blend with Lil’ Bits. How easy is that?!? Benjamin loved it and it’s a meal I can feel good about serving him to start his day!
Gerber has quite a variety of Lil’ Bits 3rd Foods. The Sweet Potato Apple Carrot & Cinnamon Lil’ Bits is Benjamin’s favorite vegetable blend (try adding a little quinoa to this one for a complete meal!) and he also really loves the Banana Apple Strawberry with Lil’ Bits.
You can pick up Gerber’s Lil’ Bits and the other ingredients needed to create this Toddler Tropical Fruit Smoothie Bowl just about anywhere you shop! Or, grab your little one’s favorite flavors and create something special just for them!
