Sugared Cranberries are a beautiful addition to the Thanksgiving or Christmas dessert table.
They not only add beauty, but also a mouth puckering tart, yet sweet pop of flavor.
They can be used along with Sugared Rosemary to make holly-like table decor, as well.

This recipe is pretty easy to prepare. The cranberries will need at least an hour to dry, but otherwise everything else is quick and simple.

Step-By-Step Instructions
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup water
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar (plus extra for rolling)
- 1 cup cranberries (fresh or frozen – if using frozen, make sure they are thawed and patted dry)

Prep!
There is no significant prep work for this recipe.
Create!
Heat the sugar and water until it’s simmering and the sugar has dissolved. Turn the heat to low and add the cranberries. Cook for 10 minutes, then turn off the heat and allow to sit for 5 more minutes.
Lift the cranberries out with a slotted spoon so the syrup drains and place on a piece of parchment paper. Dry for at least 1 hour or until sticky, but no longer wet.
Roll the dried, sticky cranberries in sugar.
Present!
Use as desired.
Tips and Techniques
- Try to ensure that the cranberries are fully dry before rolling in sugar. Cranberries can be re-rolled in sugar if they start to get wet.
- For best results, store uncovered at room temperature in a cool, dry place for up to 1-2 days.
- For longer storage, cranberries can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 5-7 days.
- Freezing is not recommended.
