Jam Crackers with Asiago Cheese and Walnuts

These Jam Crackers are topped with Asiago fresco cheese, apricot jam, and walnuts. They are warmed in the oven for a few minutes to create the most delicious quick and easy appetizer or snack.

I love quick appetizers that allow me to serve my guests something really delicious, but allow me more free time to enjoy myself, as well.

Cheese and crackers are a classic go-to recipe perfect for entertaining. This recipe for Jam Crackers with Asiago cheese and Walnuts takes plain old cheese and crackers up a notch.

Why This Recipe Works

This recipe is really quick and easy to make. From start to finish, they take less than 15 minutes.

You can serve these crackers when entertaining guests at parties or during the holidays. Or, make a batch for a quick snack. The warm, melted Asiago cheese makes these crackers a bit more special too.

Kids can enjoy these crackers as a delicious after school snack, as well.

How to Make Jam Crackers with Asiago Cheese and Walnuts

What You Need To Make This Recipe

All you need to make this recipe is crackers, Asiago fresco cheese, apricot jam, and walnuts.

Tip: you can swap out the jam and nuts for other varieties, if you prefer.

Prep!

Preheat your oven to 375°F.

Create!

First, place 36 crackers on a baking sheet or two.

Add a thin slice of the Asiago cheese to each cracker.

Top with a dollop of jam.

Add a sprinkle of chopped walnuts and warm in the oven for  3-4  minutes, or until the cheese is melted.

Present!

Tips and Techniques

  • Swap out the jam flavor and/or nuts, for other varieties (like almonds or pecans) , if you prefer. 
  • These crackers are best served immediately out of the oven.

Ingredients

  • 36 crackers
  • 4 ounces Asiago fresco * or sharp white cheddar cheese, cut into 36 thin pieces.
  • 1/4 cup apricot jam
  • 3 tablespoons walnuts * roughly chopped

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 375°F.
  • On a baking sheet, arrange crackers in a single layer.
  • Top each cracker with a piece of cheese, and a small dollop of the jam.
  • Sprinkle on the walnuts.
  • Bake, uncovered, for 3 to 4 minutes or until preserves bubble and cheese begins to melt. Serve immediately.
