Last month, I mentioned that I have really been wanting to do an all dress or an all shorts type of fix. I just have a hard time committing to one thing I guess.
So, for my July box, I asked for printed shorts with tops to wear with them, I’m still begging for those wide legged pants, and maybe a jumpsuit or romper.
I’m thankful to still have my same stylist, Chelsea. She really does a great job trying to accommodate my notes and requests.
Before I get into the full review of the items I received, let me tell you a bit about Stitch Fix and how it works. If you are already familiar with Stitch Fix, skip on through until you get to the July 2019 Stitch Fix Review heading.
What is Stitch Fix
If you already know what Stitch Fix is all about, go ahead and skip over this part. If you’re new to Stitch Fix, here is a brief summary of what you can expect.
Stitch Fix is a clothing subscription box. You can sign up to receive boxes on certain intervals, or just order a box whenever you want (this is the option I always choose so I don’t have to remember to cancel etc.). There are now women’s, men’s, and children’s Stitch Fix subscriptions available!
Each box you order will come with 5 items. These items are clothing, shoes, accessories, and jewelry. Stitch Fix now offers add-ons as well. These are items like camisoles, underwear, and bras that you can order in addition to your 5 items.
When you first sign up, you’ll fill out a style survey. Be brutally honest with this section! You’ll also have the opportunity to add any notes when you schedule your fix. I usually use this area to request certain items that I may have seen in other reviews or on Pinterest, or to request certain types of items. You definitely don’t want to skip this part. I find that being really detailed in the notes section helps to ensure that you get items that you will love!
After everything is filled out, choose the date you’d like to receive your fix.
How Much Does Stitch Fix Cost?
You pay a $20 styling fee that is credited towards anything you purchase. Shipping is free both ways. Buy what you love, return what you don’t. If you buy all 5 items, you’ll also get a 25% discount! And yes, if you don’t buy anything, the $20 fee is not refunded (as it goes towards the time to curate the items and their shipping costs). There has only been one or two times that I didn’t buy a single item.
The cost of the items varies. You can set your price ranges in your survey. Stitch Fix even carries designer brands now!
Now that that is out of the way, check out everything I got this month below!
July 2019 Stitch Fix Review
Kut from the Kloth Jansen Printed Linen Short ($58.00)
These shorts have been in a lot of fixes lately, so I’m not surprised that when I asked for printed shorts, these showed up. I am surprised that I like them so much though.
The color is so pretty and they are so soft and comfortable. I definitely see myself wearing these a lot this summer!
Verdict: kept!
Pale Sky Quin Keyhole Crochet Top ($64.00)
My stylist chose this top for me because I had mentioned that I like clothing from Anthropologie and Free People.
I have a really similar shirt already, but I would have kept it for myself if not. The lace down the back is gorgeous!
Instead, I sold this to someone in a Stitch Fix Facebook group. I do this so that I can get the discount for buying the whole box. Then, I resell the item with the discount plus shipping. It’s a win-win!
Verdict: kept but sold in a Facebook group.
Skies are Blue Danica Jumpsuit ($74.00)
I asked for a jumpsuit, and I got a jumpsuit.
I think I was hoping for something a little more casual, but this is exactly the type of bold color and print that I keep hoping I’ll find wide leg pants in.
Ultimately, I decided to keep it, because even though it’s a little dressier than I had hoped, it’s really pretty and summery and I can wear it to summer parties etc. that we may have to go to.
Verdict: kept
Dear John Finnegan Printed Short ($58.00)
I was sent a pair of Dear John shorts quite awhile ago and thought they looked terrible on me. But, these shorts? I love them!
I like the lighter color and print. It’s very subtle, yet pretty and summery. Just what I was hoping for!
Verdict: kept
good HYOUman Borea Cotton Blend Tee ($38.00)
I love good hYOUman clothing. If you’ve never tried it on, it is the softest, most comfortable clothing ever.
With that said, this shirt just wasn’t for me. It’s as soft and wonderful as every other good hYOUman item I’ve ever tried on or own, but I found it to be a bit short on me and I didn’t care for the saying on the front.
If it was solid gray, I may have kept it for myself, but instead, I also sold this in the Facebook group.
Verdict: kept but sold in a Facebook group.
Final Thoughts on My July 2019 Stitch Fix Items
I really loved this fix. The one top wasn’t quite what I was looking for, but the rest was perfect!
The total for all of the items in this fix is $292.00. The 25% discount for buying all 5 items is $73.00 which brought the total to $219.00.
I have yet to schedule my August fix. I’m not sure what I need, but I can guarantee that I’ll keep begging for those wide leg pants!
** Also, we are going to be moving soon and I am really hoping to be able to get more pictures with the clothes on. I know I always prefer those reviews the most!
My current house doesn’t have great lighting inside and zero privacy outside. They are also building new houses right next to us. The last thing I want to do is set up a tri-pod and take pictures of myself with an audience of construction workers – haha!
