It’s nearly impossible to get more Christmas and festive than these fun Chocolate Peppermint Kiss Cookies! They are so easy to make that you can add them to your list of desserts to make for cookie exchanges. The bright peppermint flavors are the perfect way to celebrate the holidays.

Underneath the bold peppermint flavors is a dark, rich chocolate cookie. It reminds me of a hot cup of sweet hot chocolate topped with minty deliciousness. They are the perfect combination of chocolate and mint and have a wonderfully soft and fudgy center.

If you enjoy the combination of chocolate and mint, make some Frosted Peppermint Brownies, Mint Chocolate Cupcakes or mix up a Chocolate Mint Martini.

Set on a prepared baking sheet 1-2 inches apart. Flatten slightly.

Chef’s Tip: rolling the cookies in the crushed candy canes makes them extra minty. You can omit this step, if you prefer less mint flavor.

Baked chocolate peppermint cookies with a candy kiss in the center on a baking sheet.

Bake for 10-11 minutes.

Allow to cool on the cookie sheet for 5-7 minutes, then press one peppermint kiss into the center of each cookie.

Chef’s Tip: it’s important to let the cookies cool just a little before adding the candy kisses or they may melt and lose their shape.

Transfer to a wire rack and allow to cool completely.

FAQ’s

Can You Use Dark Cocoa Powder In Place of Regular Cocoa Powder?

Yes, you can substitute dark cocoa powder for regular. It will make the cookies a little less sweet, but more rich tasting.

Can You Freeze Cookie Dough?

Yes, you can freeze cookie dough for up to 3 months. Allow the dough to thaw in the refrigerator before baking. You can also roll the dough out into balls before freezing and bake from frozen, adding a few minutes to the bake time.
