How to Make Chocolate Peanut Butter Rice Krispie Treats
What You Need to Make This Recipe
To make this recipe you will need Cocoa Krispies, marshmallows, peanut butter, butter, Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups, chocolate chips and peanut butter chips.
Prep!
The only prep work for this recipe is to chop up the Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups and lightly butter the inside of a baking dish.
Tip: use an 8 x 8-inch pan for thicker Rice Krispies Treats as shown in the photos, or a 9 x 11-inch pan for thinner treats.
Create!
Place the marshmallows and butter in a large microwave-safe bowl.
Microwave for 2 minutes, then stir. Microwave for an additional minute and stir until smooth.
Mix in the peanut butter until well-blended, then stir in the Cocoa Krispies until everything is covered in the marshmallow mixture.
Lightly press the Rice Krispies into the prepared baking dish.
Tip: lightly dampen your hands to keep the marshmallow from sticking to them.
Next, press the Reese’s Cups evenly over the top of the Rice Krispies Treats.
Melt the chips, individually, in a microwave safe bowl for about 30 seconds. If they are not fully melted, heat in 15 second increments until they become smooth and easy to drizzle.
Drizzle the melted chocolate and peanut butter chips over the tops of the Reese’s Cups.
Present!
Allow the Peanut Butter Chocolate Rice Krispies Treats to sit at room temperature until the melted chocolate has hardened back up.
Cut and serve.

Chocolate Peanut Butter Crispy Treats
Ingredients
- 3 tablespoons butter
- 10oz bag marshmallows
- 1/2 cup peanut butter
- 6 cups Cocoa Krispies
- 6 Reese's Peanut Butter Cups * chopped
- 2 tablespoons chocolate chips
- 2 tablespoons peanut butter chips
Instructions
- Lightly butter the inside of an 8 x 8 or 9 x 11-inch baking dish.
- Microwave the marshmallows and butter in a large microwave-safe bowl for 2 minutes. Stir then microwave for another minute and stir until smooth.
- Add the peanut butter and mix until everything is well blended.
- Gently fold in the Cocoa Krispies cereal until everything is covered in the marshmallow mixture.
- Using damp hands, lightly press the cereal mixture evenly into the baking dish.
- Sprinkle on the chopped Reese's Cups and press them into the treats.
- Microwave the chocolate and peanut butter chips (individually) for 30 seconds, then stir. If they are not fully melted, continue to microwave on 15 second increments, stirring in between until they are melted and smooth.
- Drizzle the melted chocolate and peanut butter chips onto the top of the treats.
- Let cool at room temperature until the chocolate is set, then cut and serve.
