Sliders are always a hit, whether for lunch, dinner or as a snack for game night.

These Chicken Parmesan Sliders are made with thin, breaded, pan-fried chicken cutlets topped with marinara sauce, slices of fresh mozzarella cheese and Parmesan cheese. Using super soft and fluffy King’s Hawaiian Rolls adds a touch of sweetness to every bite.

Try these sliders along with some of our other slider recipes such as Roast Beef Sliders, Meatball Sliders, and Cuban Sliders.

Why This Recipe Works

Sliders are quick and easy to make. To make this recipe even easier, you could use store-bought chicken patties or tenders.

This recipe combines the flavor of classic chicken parmigiana and sweet, Hawaiian rolls for mouth-watering taste.

These sliders can be enjoyed for lunch, dinner or as a snack. They are perfect for parties and celebrations, as well.

Step-By-Step Instructions

Ingredients

Ingredients needed to make chicken parmesan sliders on a light gray background with text overlay.

  • 1 pound thin sliced chicken breasts
  • 1/2 cup all purpose flour: you may need slightly more or less. I spoon out about 1 cup, but only typically use around 1/2 cup.
  • 1 egg
  • 1 cup Italian style seasoned bread crumbs
  • oil for frying
  • 1 12-count package King’s Original Hawaiian Sweet Rolls: you can use any slider rolls you like, if you can’t find these or prefer something else.
  • 8 ounces mozzarella cheese (thinly sliced): I use fresh mozzarella cheese for this recipe which you can often find already sliced near the deli section in most grocery stores.
  • 1/4 cup Parmesan cheese (grated)
  • 1 tablespoon butter (melted)
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon dried parsley

The entire recipe and instructions can be found in the recipe card at the bottom of this post. You can print the recipe from the card, if needed.

Prep!

Slice the mozzarella and shred the Parmesan cheese, if needed. Parmesan cheese is one of few cheeses that I will buy already shredded.

Preheat your oven to 350°F.

Chicken cutlets in dishes of flour, egg and breadcrumbs to show the breading process over a light background.

Place the flour in a shallow dish or bowl, whisk the eggs into a second bowl, and add the bread crumbs to a third shallow dish or bowl.

Pat the chicken cutlets dry with paper towels.

Coat each chicken cutlet in flour, then dip into the egg, let the excess drip off and place in the bread crumbs to fully coat both sides. Place the breaded chicken cutlets on a plate.

Heat oil in a large, deep skillet on medium until hot and glistening. You need just enough oil to cover the very bottom of the skillet.

Two fried chicken cutlets in a black skillet over a light background.

Once the oil is hot, add the cutlets. Cook 2-3 minutes or until golden brown, flip and cook an additional 2-3 minutes or until the chicken is cooked through and no longer pink in the center.

Transfer the chicken tenders to a paper-towel lined plate.

Cut the tops off of the King’s Hawaiian Rolls. You can usually do this while they are all still connected. Place in a large casserole dish.

Layer the chicken cutlets evenly onto the rolls. You may need to cut some to fit them better.

Spoon the marinara sauce over the cutlets.

Tips and Techniques

  • To save time, store-bought chicken patties or tenders can be used. If frozen, be sure to cook them first
  • Fresh mozzarella cheese can often be found already sliced near the deli section in most grocery stores.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator. Consume within 3 days.
