Softened butter is creamed with brown sugar and honey to create a wonderfully rich and sweet condiment that can be enjoyed in so many ways. You can serve this sweet compound butter as is, or form it into seasonal shapes to add some whimsical fun to the dinner table, especially during the holidays.

I first made this recipe for Brown Sugar Honey Butter to pair with Spiralized Sweet Potatoes. The combination of flavors is so good together and it’s a great recipe especially for Thanksgiving.

However, I always end up with extra butter and have used it in so many different ways that can be enjoyed all year long.

This simple compound butter is an easy way to add a little something special to your meals.

Why This Recipe Works

It’s super quick and easy to make and adds a rich, sweet touch to your favorite foods.

You can use it on all types of food. Try it on rolls, melted into vegetables, or even over chicken, salmon, or steak. Don’t worry if you have leftovers, this butter will last up to a month if stored in the refrigerator.

Use silicone candy molds to form it into holiday or seasonal shapes to add a special touch to the dinner table.

How To Make Brown Sugar Honey Butter

Ingredients

  • I recommend using unsalted butter in this recipe.

Prep!

Set your butter out about an hour before you are ready to mix the butter. This will give it time to come to room temperature and it will be much easier to blend.

Create!

Using a fork or spatula, mash together the butter, brown sugar, and honey in a bowl until well blended. You can also use a small food processor, if preferred.

Present!

If serving immediately, transfer the butter to a serving dish.

If you would like to form and re-harden the butter, you can either roll it into a log and wrap it in plastic wrap, or press it into silicone candy molds. Refrigerate until set.

Once the butter is set, either slice the log into individual pats of butter, or carefully pop the butter out of the molds, and place it on a dish for serving.

Ingredients

  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter (at room temperature)
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar (packed)
  • 1/2 tablespoon honey

Instructions

  • Add the butter, brown sugar, and honey to a mini food processor or bowl. Mix until evenly blended.
  • If shaping the butter, either roll it into a log or press it into silicone candy molds. Refrigerate until completely set, about 1-2 hours, before slicing or removing from the molds for serving.

    Only one word for this recipe – delicious! I popped this butter on top of a baked sweet potato and transformed it completely. Making them in candy molds is brilliant – beautiful presentation!
