Can we just talk about the versatility of bacon for a minute here? I really believe that anything wrapped in bacon is going to be amazingly delicious. I’ve even had bacon in chocolate! Chocolate! And, it was so so good!

Due to the popularity of Brown Sugar Honey Bacon Wrapped Pork Tenderloin, I decided why mess with a good thing? This recipe for Bacon Wrapped Chicken Breasts is basically the same recipe, just scaled down and made with chicken!

Why This Recipe Works

  • Bacon, brown sugar, and honey add tons of flavor to otherwise, plain chicken.
  • The combination of sweet and salty work perfectly together.
  • The chicken stays super moist as a result of wrapping it in bacon before cooking.

How to Make Bacon Wrapped Chicken Breasts

Prep!

3 Chicken Breasts on a blue broiler pan

Preheat your oven to 350°F. Rinse and pat the chicken breasts dry.

Create!

3 Chicken breasts on a blue broiler pan sprinkled with honey and brown sugar

Place the chicken breasts on a broiler pan. Sprinkle on a portion of the brown sugar and drizzle on some of the honey.

2 chicken breasts wrapped in bacon on a blue broiler pan

Wrap 2-3 pieces of bacon around each chicken breast, tucking the ends underneath, if possible. Top with the remaining brown sugar and honey.

3 baked bacon wrapped chicken breasts on a blue broiler pan

Bake for 30 minutes or until a meat thermometer reads 165°F.  For crispier bacon, place the pan under the broiler for a of couple minutes, watching constantly to prevent it from burning.

Tips and Techniques for the Best Bacon Wrapped Chicken Breasts

  • If you prefer crispier bacon, place the baking sheet under the broiler after it’s done baking, watching closely to prevent burning. Rotate the chicken, as needed.
  • Store any leftover chicken covered tightly with plastic wrap in the refrigerator. Use within 3-4 days.

FAQ’s

  • How long do you cook Bacon Wrapped Chicken Breasts in the oven? Since all ovens vary and chicken breasts come in all different shapes and sizes, cook times may vary as well. On average it takes around 30 minutes to bake chicken breasts in the oven. To check for doneness, either use a meat thermometer (chicken is done at 165°F) or slice it open to make sure it is no longer pink in the center.
  • How do you grill Bacon Wrapped Chicken Breasts? Preheat your grill to medium-high heat. Cook the wrapped chicken breasts, turning often, until the internal temperature reaches 165°F.
