I have seriously just had my best home hair coloring experience ever!
I’ve had my hair colored at salons before – even some very upscale, expensive salons. While It’s nice being pampered and have someone else do the job, it’s also no longer in my budget now that I am a stay-at-home mom of two children who’s needs far outnumber my own! I resorted to using a box of hair dye off the grocery store shelf the last few years. Sometimes I got decent results, and other times I hated the results and would wash my hair more than usual to try to get it out faster. I never really loved the results, though.
Not too long along, I kept seeing ads for Madison Reed home hair coloring system every time I got on Pinterest. It made me curious as to why this hair color system was so great. I read a few reviews and everyone really seemed to love the professional results they were getting at a fraction of the cost. I learned that Madison Reed hair color is free of ammonia, resorcinol, PPD, parabens, and phthalates. It was mentioned over and over again that the hair looked amazing, and felt healthier and stronger as well! I decided I had to try it!
I went onto the Madison Reed website, answered a few questions, and was given multiple suggestions for shades that would give me the best results. I was able to check out a few photos of each color and choose which one was most what I was looking for. I tend to prefer my hair somewhat darker than my natural shade and with lighter brown or gold highlights rather than red or brassy colors. I ended up choosing Napoli Brown.
A few days later I received my kit in the mail. Included was not only the hair color, but also 2 sets gloves, a hair cap, barrier cream, a cleansing wipe (just in case!), shampoo, and conditioner! Applying the color was easy and there was less mess than I’ve experienced with other brands, thanks to the barrier cream and hair cap. It also smelled good! I had no idea it was possible for hair color not to smell awful! I followed the directions for someone coloring their hair for the first time since it’s been quite awhile since the last time I colored my hair and left it on for 35 minutes. I rinsed until the water ran clear, then used the shampoo and conditioner.
I dried my hair but did not style or apply any products so that the photos would show my results from the hair color alone. Before, my hair had it’s usual brassy undertones. After, my color was a more even medium brown with golden undertones throughout! I LOVED the results! My hair was silky and shiny and the color was exactly what I was expecting! I completely understand now what all the hype over Madison Reed is about! I’m never going back to a box of hair color off of a grocery store shelf ever again! I’ve even already decided that I want to try Torino Brown next time (the idea of smokey undertones intrigues me)!
If you want to save money and time on amazing hair color, definitely check out Madison Reed! It really is as great as you may have already heard!
