Tangy and sweet, this Apple Maple Vinaigrette is the perfect dressing for any fall salad. You only need 4 ingredients and a few minutes to make a batch of your own.

With the fall season upon us, it’s only fitting to share this delicious Apple Maple Vinaigrette. It’s the perfect addition to just about any fall-inspired salad you can make.

Homemade salad dressing tastes so much better than store bought and doesn’t include any additional ingredients or preservatives that might not be the best to consume anyway.

And, holiday guests will find it impressive to see a from-scratch vinaigrette on the table too!

Step-By-Step Instructions

Ingredients

  • 2/3 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
  • 2 tablespoons maple syrup: use pure maple syrup for the best flavor
  • salt (to taste)
  • pepper (to taste)
  • 2/3 cup extra virgin olive oil

There is no significant prep work for this recipe.

Create!

Whisk together the apple cider vinegar, maple syrup, Dijon mustard, salt and pepper in a small bowl or measuring cup.

Slowly drizzle in the olive oil while whisking until fully emulsified.

Chef’s Tip: you can also use a blender to make this salad dressing. Blend the vinegar, mustard and maple syrup together first, then slowly drizzle in the olive oil while the motor is running until fully emulsified.

Present!

Transfer to a salad dressing cruet, and serve.

Tips and Techniques

  • You can use a blender to make this salad dressing. Blend the vinegar, mustard and maple syrup together first, then slowly drizzle in the olive oil while the motor is running until fully emulsified.
  • Change the ratio of vinegar and oil to adjust the acidity, if a more or less acidic vinaigrette is desired.
  • This recipe is mildly sweet. Gradually add more maple syrup if a sweeter vinaigrette if preferred.
  • Extra vinaigrette can be stored in the refrigerator. Consume within 1 to 2 weeks.

The standard ratio of vinegar to oil is 1 part vinegar to 3 parts oil, but this can be adjusted however you like to suite your own tastes.
