The T-fal Ultimate EZ Clean Deep Fryer is a great fryer for beginners or those with more experience. The built-in oil filtration aspect is one of the top selling points, but the fryer is an overall outstanding choice!
This review will discuss the details of the fryer, as well as my own personal experience using it.
Details
The T-fal Utimate EZ Clean Deep Fryer has a 3.5 liter oil capacity, making it a great size for when you are cooking for just a few people, or entertaining guests. It comes with a large mesh basket that helps to prevent excess food from falling into the oil. The basket has a folding handle for storage as well.
The fryer’s adjustable thermostat lets you set the ideal cooking temperature for the food you are preparing. It does take longer to heat up then I expected, so just be aware that you will need to allow time for preheating.
Another feature that comes in handy is the ability to hook the basket above the oil after cooking to allow excess oil to drain off before emptying the food out.
Cleaning the deep fryer is much easier than you may expect. After allowing the cooking oil to cool for at least 3 hours, turn the switch on the front of the deep fryer to drain into the oil reservoir box below. It has a filter that will prevent debris from exiting the tank with the oil. Wipe the heating element with a damp cloth to remove any excess oil. The basket, tank, and lid are all dishwasher safe.
Using the Deep Fryer
To use the deep fryer, remove the basket and fill the tank with oil to the fill line. Make sure the oil reservoir box is in place and the dial on the front of the fryer is turned to “fry.” Put the lid on.
Plug in the fryer, turn the on/off switch to “on” and set the temperature. The light by the thermostat will turn off once the oil is heated to the desired temperature.
Place your food to be deep fried in the basket and lower it into the oil. Replace the lid and cook until food is ready to your liking. Lift the basket out of the oil carefully and place it onto the hook to allow the food to drain.
Remove food from the basket. Continue cooking until done, then turn the thermostat back to “0,” turn the on/off switch to “off” and unplug the cord.
Allow the deep fryer to cool at least 3 hours. Turn the dial on the front to “Oil Filtration” and allow all the oil to filter into the oil reserve box below. Once all the oil has drained, turn the dial back to fry. Clean the heating element with a soft cloth and either hand wash the basket, tank, and lid or place them in the dishwasher.
When needed, remove the oil reserve box by turning the dial to “Oil Box” and pull the box out. You can usually re-use the oil several more times depending on what you cook in it.
My Personal Experience
I received the T-fal Ultimate EZ Clean Deep Fryer as a gift almost one year ago. I had no prior experience using a deep fryer, and although I was hesitant the first time I used it, I found it to be extremely easy to use.
The only cons I have experienced in the last year is that the magnetic plug comes out very easily (likely a safety feature) and the amount of time it takes to reach temperature. It takes about 10 minutes to reach 350 degrees.
I have not had any issues with any parts breaking or needing replaced, and fryer is still in perfect working condition.
Conclusion
Overall the T-fal Ultimate EZ Clean Deep Fryer is an excellent choice. It’s reasonably priced, well made, and easy to maintain. Food comes out cooked to perfection, and clean up is extremely easy.
